Bearing Fruit
By: Daniel Adams
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. — JOHN 15:7,8
“If ye abide in me . . . .” If you’re a born-again child of God, then you are abiding in Christ. If Jesus had said that and that alone, then we wouldn’t have to do much to get anything we want, but He continued and said, “. . . AND my words abide in you . . . .”
Jesus’ words abide in us in the measure that they transform us and govern the way that we conduct our lives.
The Bible says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17). It would be impossible for Jesus’ words to abide in someone and that person not have faith! The more we sit at Jesus' feet and feast on His words, the more we will have his word in us.
Unbelief, fear, and doubt are all a result of ignorance of the Word of God. If the Word is in us, then when we pray, we will see miraculous results. The Word coming out of your mouth will be no different than Jesus speaking. It will be as it was when Jesus spoke the Father’s words and brought a transformation.
Confession: I abide in Christ and Christ abides in me. His words abide in me richly. I believe the Word, I pray the Word. When I pray, the Word that dwells in my heart becomes God’s Word on my lips, and it produces miraculous results. God's Word works!
