Humility
By: Daniel Adams
Who [Christ Jesus], being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. — Philippians 2:6-8
Christ has always been God. But the scriptures show us that He emptied Himself of His divinity when He put on flesh and came to this world in the form of a man. This was a divine operation of God totally different from the natural order. This was nothing short of a miracle. God took Christ from the Godhead in Heaven — and then He strategically placed Christ in the womb of a virgin to be united with flesh in a glorious and unique way.
Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me. — Hebrews 10:5
God prepared a body for this Being called the Son of God – the Word made flesh.
Confession: Thank You, Jesus, for humbling Yourself and becoming obedient even unto death to the Father’s will. thank You, Father, for highly exalting Jesus, and for giving to Him the Name which is above every name – that at that Name every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
