Walk By Faith
By: Daniel Adams
For we walk by faith, not by sight. — 2 Corinthians 5:7
Smith Wigglesworth once said something that I believe is important for all of us to understand in our walk with God. He said:
“I am not moved by what I feel.
I am not moved by what I see.
I am moved only by what I believe.”
Then he went on to say:
“I can’t understand God by feelings.
I can’t understand the Lord Jesus Christ by feelings.
I understand God by what the Word says about Him.
I understand the Lord Jesus Christ by what the Word
says about Him. He is everything the Word says He is.”
You will not be able to understand yourself or the Lord by feelings. Instead, we understand ourselves as born-again, Spirit-filled Christians, by what the Word of God says about us. Likewise, we understand and get to know the Lord through revelation from His word. The Bible tells us that the entrance of His Word brings light.
And when you read what the Word says, whether you feel like it or not, we should speak, “This is for me, this is my identity I have what the Word says. The Word says I have that. I can do what the Word says I can do. I am what the Word says I am. Amen!”
As you do this, you will begin to develop your spirit to walk in victory in every area of your life.
Confession: I walk by faith in God's word and not by feelings or sight.
